Hypocrites (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)Out of the woods into the clearRats in a race running to sheer frightTurn on the set turn up the blameThere’s no more shame and everyone’s rightSo right Sharpen the blade lie to invade Ready the pawns sparing the royal knightGiving to stealStanding to kneelHurting to healFailing to feelTo feelLeap from the cold into the fireOut of control tripping the wirePointing at me pointing at you Making us gorge on your point of view Dropping the bombs fighting for peaceSelling a war profits increaseDying to love loving to dieDestroying ourselves no one knows whySo why? Faking for realDoes anyone know the deal? Are we for people? Are we just narcissists?Walking through playgroundsTripping in politics Judging the weak in the crowd Dividing the meek from the proud Scared of the same in us Who can we blame or trust?Obscuring for clearSo far from nearCrying to cheerWe’re yelling to hear Kicked in the head of the state of the innocent minding the gap in the logic where wrong turns to right wings of freedom to fall forsaking it all in the name of the one true God not yours or theirs just mineWe’re all hypocrites

Static (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)The crowd around youOf no concern at allLost in a haze of confusion On another callAddicted to distractionThe curse of discontentYou struggle on the path of least resistance To suffer and lament One last chance for saving faceThere’s no net when we fall from graceWe can’t get through the staticthat reigns inside your headThe pulse of life is beatingbut someone’s playing deadWe can’t get through the staticcause chaos fills your mind instead In an ocean of your fortuneyou swim against the tidePeople try to reach youbut you’re drowning deep insideOne last chance for saving faceThere’s no net when you fall from graceWe can’t get through the staticthat reigns inside your headA thousand screaming voicesthe one of logic fledCan’t rise above the static The waves of reason crashYou had the throne of kingsand burned it all to ash

Reckless (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)Hey therePretty babyThinking maybeYou’ve got nothing to lose tonightPack up the brews and let’s go for a rideBe my honeyBring the moneyWe’re gonna go and paint the townI’ve got the fastest wheels aroundSweet ladyCall me Shadycause I know a damn good timeChasing a thrill is not a crimeReckless like you’ve never beenCrashing on the road withinReckless like you’ve never sinnedNow we’re racingYou’re embracingThe other side at 135What better way to feel alive? Tires screeching Limits breachingI think it’s time we hit the brakesDo a few lines to raise the stakes?Reckless like you’ve never beenCrashing on the road withinReckless like you’ve never sinnedThrowing caution to the windSpitting fire from the backBurning speed and losing trackRisking all to get a liftSpinning out on a mental cliff Hey therePretty babyThinking maybeWe could do it again sometimeAs long as your boyfriend doesn’t mindReckless like you’ve never beenCrashing on the road withinReckless like you’ve never sinnedThrowing caution to the wind

Chain Reaction (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)When you criticizeand you realizecuts you down to sizeWhen it’s getting lateand you take the baitbut you better waitWhen the innocenceturns to self defenseinto consequenceAnd you wonder howyou’ll work it outwith no conclusion nowMerciful sunShining on every single oneA battle of words we fight who we are Leading to tears and going too farWhen you’re meaning welland you broke the spell and it goes to hellShaky alibi with emotions highand the insults flyWhen the lines are crossedand the feeling’s lostand you see the cost When you hear the crackand your fears attackand you cannot take it backMerciful sunShining on every single oneA battle of words we fight who we are Leading to tears and going too far Dominos fall and promises stray Caught in the chain and slipping awayOne wrong step and the mine explodesOne bad move and the whole thing blowsSpiraling down and we lose controlMerciful sunShining on every single oneA battle of words we fight who we are Leading to tears and going too far Dominos fall and promises stray Caught in the chain and slipping away

08 Dirty Soap Box 05:43

lyrics

Dirty Soap Box (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)Here we are at the crossing point of lunacy and mayhemPeople walk the city streets with torches in their handsDog eat dog it’s fight or flight put the money in the mattress Alright The magistrate is smoking crack The grimy pot calls the kettle black The lawyer grabs his pile of cash with a monkey on his back Self righteous preacher stands in the corner stageOn his dirty soap boxHere we are at the turning page from decency to defect Shifty scammers sell their smiles with the deepest disrespect Give me your time and I will rob you blindNeighbors hide and lock their doors Saints confide in greedy whor*s Shrouded men will spew their hateDesperate housewives test their fateLeaders posting tweets obsceneScholars read the lines between Hackers leaking every last nameImposters feel their shame

09 The Truth Behind 07:11

lyrics

The Truth Behind (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)So many strangers lurkToo many odd disturbing signsFrom her denialPrying to read between the lines Look at yourselfSuch a fine mess Consumed with stressShe found a new faceTo get past your blind-folded eyesIt’s part of a schememade of deception and lies Just look at yourself Your head in a cloudfloating aboutand your core is screaming out It’s happening againthe chaos and mind-numbing gamesYour path to the endcrawling through slow burning flamesWe want to live the life we have visions ofSometimes we sink so low we can’t rise aboveWhen your suspicions growfrom all the clues you findYou feel that you have the right to knowThe truth behind With your tears rolling down You know that you’re the fool who wears the crownWatering the roots of your disdainA relentless pursuit that fuels your painIs this what you need? You ready to bleed? The stories unfold Outrageous and cold Mislead and playedShocked and betrayedThe truth that’s behindIt’s blowing your mindEyes open wideDevotions collide How much can you take? Don’t drown in the wakeThey’re sneaking aroundThere’s more to be foundTheir act is a crimeBut you’re doing the timeDoing the time

Right Back To The Start (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)Tomorrow is just a seed in your heart
Change will take you right back to the startAnd now your thoughts unwind

Drama is just a part in your brain
Tales that taunt you driving you insane
But soon you’ll find the strength To leave it all behind

13 State of Innocence 04:48

lyrics

State of Innocence (Lyrics by Dave Kerzner)I used to float in waters cleanThen my soul went submarineOut of depth far from serene All the pieces felt like oneTill I saw the puzzle doneNow I stand doubting everyone Wake up you dreamers see through the lieShake off the fear of wondering who, what or why All in all no one is solely to blame All of us part of this difficult game called lifeDon’t be the victim of your own sword and knifeOn and on the living sphere will turnand we yearn, we burn and we learn

"Static" is Dave Kerzner's follow up studio solo album to his acclaimed debut "New World". It's a progressive rock concept album and a "rock opera" about the distractions, chaos and clutter in everyday life and about navigating past this "static interference" in our heads toward clarity and happiness.

The album features Kerzner on vocals, keyboards and guitars and he is joined by top musicians including Steve Hackett (Genesis), Fernando Perdomo (Jakob Dylan), Derek Cintron (DC3), Nick D'Virgilio (Big Big Train, Spocks Beard), Randy McStine (The Fringe), Matt Dorsey (Sound of Contact), Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd), Alex Cromarty (Mostly Autumn), Stuart Fletcher (Sea Horses), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree) and more!

"Static" is a "rock opera" with dramatic twists and turns from dark moods to uplifting atmospheric pieces to rich nostalgic rock sounds to modern alt rock edge. The album is the length of a traditional double album on one jam packed CD (or 74+ minute album on CD or download). It features the songs:
