Take Advantage of Free Expansions in Destiny 2
For those who have been absent from Destiny 2, it is crucial to note that Bungie has recently made the expansions Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen available for all players to try at no cost from May 7 – June 3, 2024. This decision was made to assist players who may not have obtained the subclasses or the array of Exotic and Legendary Gear that come with these expansions.
Even though it is not mandatory to complete these expansions beforehand, there are still numerous exclusive weapons and abilities that you can acquire by playing through each expansion. Considering they are currently available for everyone, it would be beneficial to do so. Therefore, if you have been waiting for a sign to revisit Destiny 2, now would be an ideal opportunity.

The Bright Dust can be found in the Eververse Store after every weekly reset. To acquire it, just retrieve it from the Store.
Materials You Need To Stock Up On
Upon the arrival of The Final Shape, you will undoubtedly have a plethora of new gear and weapons that you will want to incorporate into your arsenal. But, as is the case with many aspects of Destiny 2, you will require materials to obtain them.

- Glimmer can be obtained by participating in Public Events, PvE and PvP activities, and completing Bounties.
- Exotic Engrams – can be earned from vendors (Lord Shaax, Zavala, etc.), completing Weekly Challenges, rare drops in PvP & PvE, Season Pass track
- Ascendant Shards – can be earned after completing rank 1 at vendors (Zavala, Shaax, Drifter, Spirit of Riven, Gunsmith, etc.), Seasonal Pass track, Higher tiers in Onslaught & The Coil, Fishing, Redeeming Wish Tokens, GM Nightfalls)

- Enhancement Cores – (PvP & PvE activities, Increasing Reputation Score at Vendors, Nightfalls & GM Nightfalls, Season Pass track, Dismantling unwanted Legendary items, Legend and Master Lost Sectors, etc.)
- Enhancement Prisms – (Nightfalls & GM Nightfalls, Empire Hunts, Increasing Reputation Score at Vendors, Season Pass track, etc.)
Completing Bounties
“Bounty prepping”or completing bounties before a new expansion has always been a common practice among Destiny players. As The Final Shape approaches, this practice remains just as important. However, if you choose to bounty prep, there are a few things you should be aware of.
Weekly Bounties
When completing bounties, it is most beneficial to focus on weekly bounties. These bounties, often labeled as XP++, change on a weekly basis and provide the highest amount of XP. We suggest prioritizing weekly bounties from Petra Venj, Variks, The Loyal, and Suraya Hawthorne. By completing and saving bounties from these vendors until The Final Shape arrives, you can accumulate a significant amount of XP to aid in your progress through the
Daily Bounties
Although daily bounties, known as XP and XP+, do not offer as much XP as weekly bounties, they can still be beneficial for increasing your level when The Final Shape is released. If you are short on time and are unable to complete the weekly bounties, it may be advantageous to save up regular daily bounties and use them during the expansion.
Shiny Drops From Onslaught
After the release of the Into the Light update in April, Bungie reintroduced a number of beloved weapons. Although these weapons will still be available in the loot pool when The Final Shape launches, the Shiny versions will not be. As a result, it is crucial to collect as many drops as possible while you still can.
