Publishing Lead, League of Legends: Wild Rift at Riot Games
- Report this post
Oh man, time flies. It's been 5 years since I decided to leave the consumer good industry to join the gaming world, an industry that I knew nothing about but just full of passion and faith. Like I shared years ago, I chose a different path, a more risky one at that time, wanting to become a more fun and interesting person. The past few years has brought so much joy and stories to me personally, I played a sh*t ton of games, traveled to many offline eSport events, led multiple campaigns to delight fans and players all around the world with this amazing IP "League of Legends". The journey was intense, hard, and stressed but I got zero regret as I wake up every day still, think about how I can create better experience and value for players. It's been an unbelievable 5 years, and too many people to thank (you know who you are). Now I lead the publishing team on Wild Rift, a game that I love so much (hate when I am on a losing streak), many challenges to come but I'm sure it would be rewarding at the end. #GG

Bungie’s Destiny has come a long way, revolutionizing the games industry and gaming as we know it.But in recent years, the series has developed in a way to maximize profits rather than one marked by a love for storytelling, which put Bungie on the map many moons ago.Mario Stefanidis, CFA wrote a wonderful two-part series for Naavik Digest to explain how this came to be, what the current state of Destiny 2 is, and what should happen next.We dive into the evolution of the Eververse store, the season pass system, the Engram loot box system, and much more. We also explore how Destiny 2 became the mainstream game with themost microtransactions in history, and why major outcry into Bungie’s practices reached new heights six years after the game’s launch.Check it out:- Part 1: https://lnkd.in/g8uW4FR8 - Part 2: https://lnkd.in/gPfQZnVG Tell is if you agree or disagree!

Last week I was incredibly fortunate to be behind the scenes at IMC Conference - Marketing is Business©. I had the amazing opportunity to listen to talks by industry leaders such as Doug Place, Roanna Williams, Luca Gallarelli, Nick Law, and got to see the incredible student, Anganathi Beyile, deliver a talk that moved and inspired so many. There is one talk that I still haven't stopped thinking about, though, and that's 'The Multiplayer Brand' by Zoe Scaman. Zoe got me so excited for the future of marketing - and creative thinking in general! It was (as she put it) "inspiring and terrifying" to see how brands and individuals are already using generative AI to create all sorts of weird and wonderful campaigns. I love how Zoe talked through concepts like the "Cosy Web" and collaboration + reciprocal value exchanges between brands and customers, as well as ways brands are building communities to use to their advantage. As someone who is constantly thinking of new things to try - game design, writing a novel, building my own apps, starting podcasts, honestly just any creative endeavor - this talk really opened my mind to what the future of brands and marketing (and again, creative thinking in general) could look like, and I could not be more excited! If this sounds up your alley, check out Zoe's presentation below:
