What To Do With Hope After Freeing Her
Hope is a recurring theme in Baldur's Gate 3. It's not only a person but the namesake and true owner of Avernus's most notorious home. Should you choose to venture into the abode of one of Avernus's most daring devils, you'll be given a choice: turn your back on Hope or dare to free her.

Freeing her from Raphael's devilish grip will be no easy task, but the reward will certainly be worthwhile. With Hope at your side, anything is possible - even taking down one of Baldur's Gate 3's most difficult and notorious bosses.
How To Begin Hope's Quest

Hope's quest automatically becomes available the moment you walk in from the entrance of the House of Hope. At the main doors, she'll approach and speak with you.
State:
"Maybe I can help you be free of whoever's hurting you."
You can use any check provided to you to ask questions about the House of Hope and, more importantly, the location of the Orphic Hammer. This item is the key to freeing her.

If you successfully speak with Hope and offer to free her, she will give you a Debtor's Disguise, allowing you to walk freely in the House of Hope without being attacked.
From here, to progress Hope's quest, you need the Orphic Hammer. There are two ways to get this:
- Made a deal with Raphael in exchange to eventually give the Crown of Karsus
- Stolen it from the Archives

If you have not yet stolen the hammer, Hope will appear again outside the Archives in the west wing to give you a hint (on a successful Wisdom, Intelligence, or Charisma check) on how to dupe the Archivist.
You must obtain the Boudoir Invitation from the Archivist through Deception or pickpocketing and find the secret password in the Boudoir to unlock the hammer.

There are two methods to enter Hope's chamber.
Method One
The first and most obvious is to enter the metal hatch on the floor in the east wing of the House of Hope. You will need to pass a Strength check (DC10) to open it.
Once inside, you can hit the button to the right of the door to unlock it and proceed.
Method Two

A second secret entrance can be found off the balcony between the Boudoir and the Outer Portals room.
From the balcony, jump off through the crumbling corner onto a set of rocks. You will find a green opening in the ground labeled Passageway. Interact with it to enter the camber.
If you stole the hammer, you will need to enter Hope's chamber after fighting several Debtors and running from flaming magma balls.
In this case, using the second secret entrance is easiest as it bypasses an entire hallway of encounters.
How To Defeat The Beholders And Destroy Hope's Chains

There are two beholders in the room with Hope and several lesser imps.
The beholders themselves pose an issue with their ability to use up to three attacks in one turn. They can deal large amounts of damage while also paralyzing their enemies.
However, the real issue lies in the map itself and the ability the imps have: Eldritch Blast - Repelling Blast Invocation. With so many platforms and clear chasms between them, these imps can abuse the terrain to send your party falling to their immediate deaths.
Due to the real fight looming around the corner, we recommend attempting to save as many higher level spell slots as you can.
While it makes this fight harder, it is definitely preferable to increase the difficulty of this fight as opposed to the House of Hope's real boss.

Focus first on the lesser imps. Defeat them all and then put your attention on the beholders. If you have someone with Freedom of Movement, it can be a useful spell to use in snapping your allies out of paralysis if they fail a save.
When the beholders and imps are all defeated, you can then focus on freeing Hope.

Use the Orphic Hammer on the two large crystals on the north and south sides of the room. After they are destroyed, the magical chains holding Hope will disappear.
Speak with Hope. After commenting on her appearance, you can leave the house with Hope now in your party.

When Hope is freed, she will temporarily join your party. She's a Level 10 gold dwarf life cleric.
Although having an extra healing member on your team is in itself handy, Hope's real skill is in her unique spell: "Revoke Guest Status." Able to cast it twice, Hope can send any creature (except Raphael) out of the House of Hope.
If you fail to persuade Yurgir to join your party, you can have Hope Banish him from the house entirely and avoid fighting him. This is a huge bonus and a game-changer for the fight.
Can You Keep Hope?

You cannot keep Hope in your party after the House of Hope is completed. She will remain in hell.
However, her huge impact on the Raphael fight alone is worth having her in your party and going through the steps to free her.
